Junior Varsity Girls – Brooklyn Wasnie
This season our most valuable player was an athlete who was reliable in all aspects of the game. Whether it was service aces at crucial times, a hit down the line or perfect dig, we knew this girl would get the job done. She was extremely coachable and worked hard every practice to learn the physical skills and mental components of the game in order to succeed. This athlete could be counted in on big moments and handled the pressure very well. We could also count on her to wear her “lucky” pink socks to every single game. We are so happy and proud to present this year’s JV girls volleyball MVP to Brooklyn Wasnie.

Varsity Girls Volleyball – Emma Benson
Emma helped lead the Varsity Girls Volleyball team to a successful season this year. As the libero, she was the leader in the back court on both serve receive and defense. Emma stands out on the court for her ability to read the play and pick up balls that would typically hit the floor. She also sets herself apart with her work ethic and drive to improve. This season, Emma was named to the All-Manitoba team and was also listed as a honourable mention in the Winnipeg Sun’s Top 10 poll. Emma has contributed to the Royals Volleyball program for many years and we wish her luck on her future endeavors. Congratulations to Emma!

Varsity Boys Volleyball MVP – Josh Yeroschak
Josh was a leader on the Varsity team. As the setter his role was to motivate, initiate plays and guide the team. He showed great improvement throughout the year and was constantly looking for feedback and ways to improve and connect with his teammates. As a young team, we relied on Josh’s leadership to balance the energy on the team and his thirst for victory never wavered. He was always considerate of his teammates and coaches and played his heart out each and every game. Congratulations Josh!
